I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two time world boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated JoshuaβFury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
