This Festive Cocktail – The Method
WHere is an easy version of a beverage found on a new cocktail list. It's a large-volume pre-mixed which is bursting full of tastes of the Christmas time, making it ideal for your holiday party. Any leftover syrup for morning drinks, sweets, or to mix additional servings of the drink.
The Bikini Cocktail
Serves 10 guests
Ingredients for the Clementine Cordial (produces 750ml)
300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g caster sugar
To make the Premix (produces 850ml, enough for 10)
400ml premium vodka
100ml dry gin
150ml peach schnapps
200ml clementine syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Instructions
To prepare the Cordial: Place all the ingredients in a pot, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, mixing to dissolve. Then, take off the burner and let it to cool down completely. Decant into an sealable bottle, close it and store in the refrigerator, where it will keep for around four weeks.
For the Batch Mix: Pour the specified liquids into one large bottle, allow it to infuse for 60 minutes, then strain , ideally through muslin, so it's completely strained.
For serving: Add 85ml of your batch mix to a stirring glass filled with ice, and stir lightly for one minute until cold. Pour into a frosted cocktail glass or similar, garnish with the cranberries adding the final touch with a quick spritz of mandarin oil over the top.
